Storm Damage Repair in Rossmoor
When a storm passes, you want to know what it did to your roof. We get up there, look at every slope, and take photos. Then we tell you plainly what is damaged, what is just old wear, and what it will take to fix it.
What storm damage repair covers
Storm damage is anything wind, rain or flying debris did to your roof in a short time. Shingles lifted or torn off. Tiles cracked by a falling branch. Flashing bent back at a chimney. A ridge cap peeled loose. Small things like these let water in on the next rain, even if your ceiling looks fine today.
Not every worn spot is storm damage, and we will tell you which is which. That matters for your wallet and for your insurance claim. Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience, and that much time on roofs makes it easier to tell fresh wind damage from a shingle that was already tired.
Southern California storms tend to come in winter, with strong gusts ahead of the rain. A careful check soon after the wind dies down keeps a small fix from turning into a wet attic.
What we do on a storm damage job
A full roof check
We walk the roof when it is safe and look at shingles or tile, flashing, vents, valleys and the ridge. We also look at the gutters and the attic if we can get in.
Photos of what we find
You get clear pictures of each damaged spot. You can see the roof the way we saw it without climbing a ladder.
Temporary cover when needed
If there is an opening and more rain is coming, we cover it to keep water out until the repair is done.
Repairs that match your roof
We replace torn shingles, cracked tiles and bent flashing with material that fits what you have. As a GAF Certified Contractor, we know how GAF shingle systems are meant to go together.
Help with your insurance claim
We work directly with your insurance claim. We share our photos and written findings and can meet the adjuster on the roof. The adjuster makes the coverage call, not us.
Cleanup
We pick up loose shingles, broken tile and nails from your yard and driveway before we leave.
Signs the storm hurt your roof
Shingles in the yard
Pieces on the lawn or in the gutter mean something came off. The spot it came from is now open to rain.
Cracked or slipped tiles
Look from the street for tiles that sit crooked or show a broken corner. Wind and branches do this often on tile roofs.
New stains on the ceiling
A brown ring or damp spot after a storm means water found a way in. Get it checked before the next rain.
Bent flashing or loose vents
Metal around chimneys and vent pipes can get pushed up by strong gusts. Once it lifts, water runs right under it.
Branches on the roof
Even a limb that slid off can crack tile or knock granules off shingles. It is worth a look.
How a storm repair goes
- 1
You call, we set a time
Tell us what you saw. We set a time to come out for a free inspection.
- 2
We check the roof and take photos
We go over the whole roof, not just the spot you noticed. Storms rarely hit only one place.
- 3
We go over the findings
We show you the photos and explain what is storm damage and what is normal wear. Then you get a free written estimate with each repair listed.
- 4
We make the repair
Once you say go, we fix the damage and seal it up. If your insurance is involved, we work with the claim along the way.
- 5
Final check and cleanup
We look over the finished work and clean the yard. You get photos of the repaired areas too.
What moves the cost of storm repair
The price depends on how much the storm broke and what your roof is made of. We do not guess. You get a written estimate once we have been up on the roof, with each item listed so you can see where the money goes. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.
- How much is damaged
- A few lifted shingles is a small job. Several torn sections or a long run of broken tile takes more labor and material.
- Roof material
- Shingles, concrete tile, clay tile and flat roofs all repair differently. Matching older tile can take more time to source.
- What is underneath
- If water got past the surface, we may find wet underlayment or soft decking. That has to be replaced so the repair holds.
- How steep and how easy to reach
- A roof with a sharp pitch, or one that sits high over a two-story wall or under big trees, means more setup time and harness work. The crew moves slower there, and that shows up in the labor.
- Insurance involvement
- If your claim covers the damage, your share depends on your policy and deductible. We can walk you through the estimate next to the adjuster's report.
Storm damage repair questions

Should I file an insurance claim before you look at the roof?
It is usually better to have the roof inspected first. Our photos and written findings show what the storm actually did. That helps you decide if a claim makes sense for the damage and your deductible.
Will you tell me if the damage is not from the storm?
Yes. If a problem is old wear and not storm damage, we say so plainly. That keeps your claim honest and helps you plan for what the roof really needs.
Does a storm mean I need a new roof?
Most of the time, no. Many storm jobs are repairs to a few areas. If the roof was near the end of its life and the damage is spread out, we will explain why roof replacement may be the better choice and show you why.
Can I go up and check the roof myself?
We would rather you stay on the ground. Wet shingles and loose tile are slick, and stepping on tile can crack more of it. Look from the yard and let us do the climbing.
Do you serve areas outside Rossmoor?
Yes. We also work in nearby towns like Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Cypress and Long Beach. We speak English and Spanish, so you can talk with us in whichever is easier for you.
