ServicesUrgent Roof Repair

Sudden Roof Damage Repair in Rossmoor, Starting With a Close Look

When a branch comes down, wind lifts a row of shingles or water starts dripping through a ceiling, we come out, look closely and cover the opening first. Then we show you what failed and what the real repair takes, before you agree to anything.

Two Jobs: Protect Your Home Now, Fix It Right Later

Sudden roof damage usually needs two separate pieces of work. The first is temporary. We stop more water from getting in with a tarp, sealant or a short patch, so your ceilings, insulation and belongings stay dry. The second is the permanent repair, done once the roof has had a chance to dry and we know the full extent of the problem.

Even when things feel urgent, we don't skip the inspection. A torn spot on the surface can hide wet decking, a loose flashing seam or a cracked tile two rows up. We check those before we recommend anything, and we tell you what we found in everyday words.

Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience, which means a lot of mornings after a hard wind. That background helps us tell quickly what is cosmetic, what can wait a week and what needs attention now.

What This Service Includes

Closing up the damage
We tarp or seal the opening and fasten it to stand up to wind, keeping the house dry until the permanent repair.
Photos of the damage
We photograph the roof and the attic clearly. You get to see the damage yourself, and the photos help if you file an insurance claim.
A look at the attic and ceilings
Water travels along rafters before it hits drywall. We look inside for damp insulation or stained decking, not only where the drip appeared.
A written plan for the lasting repair
After we've seen everything, you get a free written estimate. As a GAF Certified Contractor, we install replacement materials the way the manufacturer specifies.
Help with your claim
We work directly with your insurance claim: we meet the adjuster, share our photos and measurements and explain each step. The adjuster decides coverage.
Cleaning up after ourselves
We clear broken tile, shingle scraps and loose nails from planters and walkways. A rolling magnet then goes over the lawn and paving so nothing sharp gets left.

Signs Your Roof Needs Help Now

  • Water dripping from the ceiling

A drip, a swollen patch of drywall or water near a light means there's an opening in the roof. Shut off power to that light and put a bucket down.

  • Shingles or tiles gone after a windstorm

Santa Ana gusts can strip shingles or push tiles out of line. Bare underlayment won't keep rain out for long.

  • A branch or debris up on the roof

A heavy limb can crack tile or decking even when nothing looks broken from below. Leave it where it is and let us remove it safely.

  • Loose or lifted flashing

When the metal around a chimney, vent or wall is bent up or flapping, water runs right in at the joints.

  • A soft or sagging area

A low spot in the roofline can point to wet or broken decking below. Keep off it, and keep everyone out of the room underneath.

What Sets the Cost

The temporary cover and the permanent repair are priced on their own, and both depend on what we find. The estimate is in writing before anything starts. When there's an insurance claim, we show where it comes in, and financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

Size of the damaged area

A few raised shingles are quick to fix. A section ripped open by a fallen limb takes more material and more hours.

Type of roof

Tile, asphalt shingle and flat roofs each need different materials and methods. Tracking down a match for older tile can take extra time.

What's under the surface

If water has soaked into the decking or underlayment, those layers get replaced before new roofing goes on. We can't know until we look.

Height, pitch and access

Steep and two-story roofs need more safety setup. Tight side yards and overhanging trees also add time.

What Happens After You Pick Up the Phone

  1. 1

    Start with a phone call

Describe what you're seeing and which room it's affecting. We'll talk through a few safe things to do in the meantime, like moving furniture and catching drips, and agree on a time to come out.

  2. 2

    We inspect, then secure

We walk the roof and check the attic. Then we cover the damaged area so no more water gets in.

  3. 3

    We show you the findings

You see the photos and hear what failed and why. If it's a small fix, we say so. If more of the roof is worn out, we say that too.

  4. 4

    You get a written estimate

The permanent repair is laid out line by line, free. Nothing moves forward until you agree.

  5. 5

    We make the lasting repair

We replace the damaged materials, check the surrounding area once more and clean up before we leave.

Questions We Get After Sudden Damage

Can I go up and look at the damage myself?

Please don't. Wet roofing is slippery, and a damaged area can be weaker than it looks. Look from the ground, take pictures if you can and put your effort inside, moving belongings and catching drips.

How long will a tarp hold up?

A well-fastened tarp is meant to get you to the permanent repair, not to stay up for months. Sun and wind wear it out. We set the real repair once the roof has dried and we know everything that needs fixing.

Does insurance cover this kind of damage?

That depends on the cause and the wording of your policy. We work directly with your claim, providing photos and meeting the adjuster, but coverage is the insurance company's decision. Damage from a single windstorm or fallen limb is often handled differently than wear that built up over time.

Does this mean I need a new roof?

Usually not. Damage from one event can most often be repaired. If the rest of the roof looks close to worn out, we'll be upfront about it and let you decide on roof replacement.

Will the repair blend in with the rest of the roof?

We match color and profile as closely as possible. Older tile and shingles no longer made can be hard to source, and we'll tell you early if an exact match isn't likely.
