Gutters for Rossmoor Homes

We repair, rehang and replace gutters and downspouts. Before we suggest anything, we look at the roof edge, the fascia board and where your water actually goes. Then you get plain findings and a written estimate, and you decide what makes sense.

Gutters Are the Last Step of Your Roof

Your roof sheds the water. Your gutters catch it and carry it away from the walls and foundation. When they sag, leak or overflow, that water lands right where you don't want it, and the damage is slow and quiet.

Our rain here tends to come in a handful of heavy storms. Gutters can sit dry for months, then get asked to move a lot of water in an hour. That's when loose hangers, clogged downspouts and bad pitch show up.

So we start on the ladder, not with a sales pitch. Sometimes the fix is a resealed corner and a re-pitched run. Sometimes the gutter is fine and the real problem is a missing drip edge on the roof. We tell you which one it is.

What Our Gutter Work Covers

Roof edge and fascia check

We look at the drip edge, the last course of shingles or tile, and the fascia board behind the gutter. Soft or rotted wood gets pointed out with photos before any gutter goes back up.

Repairs that hold

Resealing leaking seams and end caps, replacing bent sections, swapping failed spikes for proper hidden hangers, and resetting the pitch so water runs to the outlet instead of sitting.

New one-piece gutters

When replacement is the right call, we install aluminum gutters formed as one continuous length for each run, cut to fit your eave. Leaks usually start where two pieces meet, and a straight run with no splices gives water nothing to work through.

Downspouts and drainage

We size and place downspouts so each one handles its share of the roof, and add extensions or splash blocks to move water away from your foundation.

Tied in with the roof

Gutters and roof edges work as one system. As a GAF Certified Contractor, we make sure the drip edge and gutter line up so water clears the fascia instead of running behind it.

Signs Your Gutters Need Attention

  • Water spilling over the top

If gutters overflow in a steady rain, they're clogged, pitched wrong or too small for the roof area above them.

  • Sagging or pulling away

A run that dips or leans out from the house usually has loose or rusted hangers. Left alone, it can tear off the fascia.

  • Drips at seams and corners

Older sectional gutters leak at the joints as the sealant dries out. You'll see streaks on the siding or stains below the corners.

  • Peeling paint or soft fascia

Paint keeps flaking off the board behind the gutter, or you press the wood and it gives. That tells us water has been sneaking in behind the gutter for months, maybe longer.

  • Puddles and washed-out soil

Bare spots in the planter beds or water pooling against the foundation after a storm point to downspouts that dump too close to the house.

How a Gutter Job Goes

  1. 1

    A short phone call

You tell us what you're seeing. We set a time to come out and look. We work in English and Spanish.

  2. 2

    Inspection with photos

We walk the full perimeter, check the roof edge, hangers, seams and downspouts, and take pictures of what we find. You see the same photos we do.

  3. 3

    Written estimate

You get a free written estimate that lists each item. If a repair will do the job, that's what we recommend.

  4. 4

    Install day

Most gutter jobs take a day or less. We protect your plants and walkways, pull off old gutters if needed, hang the new runs and set the downspouts.

  5. 5

Flow check, then we clean up

Before we pack up, a hose goes on the roof so we can watch water reach each outlet and leave the downspouts. Old gutters, screws and scraps go in our truck, and the walkways get swept.

What Moves the Price of Gutter Work

Every house is different, so we price from what we measure and see. The estimate spells out each part of the job. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

Length and height
Total linear feet sets the base. A two-story run takes more ladder work and setup than a single-story eave.
Fascia condition
If the board behind the gutter is rotted, it has to be replaced first. We show you photos so you know why it's on the estimate.
Gutter size and downspouts
Larger gutters and more downspouts cost more, but a big roof section draining to one small outlet will keep overflowing.
Removal and haul-away
Taking down old steel or sectional gutters, and dealing with any patched-on pieces, adds time.

Gutter Questions We Hear

Something not covered here? (562) 442-4601

Should I repair my gutters or replace them?

If the gutters are solid and the trouble is a few leaky joints or loose hangers, a repair is usually money well spent. If they're rusted through, badly bent or dripping at seam after seam, new gutters make more sense in the long run. Either way, you'll see the photos and hear our straight opinion before you spend anything.

What's the difference between one-piece and sectional gutters?

Sectional gutters come in short pieces joined every few feet, and every joint can leak. One-piece gutters are formed as a single length for each run, so the only joints are at corners and outlets. They hold up better and look cleaner.

Is a roof replacement a good time to swap out the gutters too?

Usually it is. While the roof is being replaced, the drip edge goes on new and the fascia is out in the open, so rotted wood is easy to fix and the gutters can be set at the right height. Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience, and getting that edge right is a big part of what keeps water out.

Will insurance cover damaged gutters?

Sometimes, when wind or a fallen limb caused the damage. We work directly with your insurance claim and document the damage with photos, but your adjuster decides what's covered.

Do I need gutter guards?

Not always. If you have trees dropping leaves or needles over the roof, guards can cut down on clogs. If not, a clean outlet and good pitch may be all you need, and we'll tell you so.
