Hail Damage Repair in Rossmoor
Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground and easy to overstate from a sales pitch. We climb up, look at every slope, take photos and tell you plainly what the hail did. Then we fix what needs fixing and nothing else.
What Hail Does to a Roof
Hail does not always leave holes. On asphalt shingles it knocks off the granules and bruises the mat underneath. On tile it can crack a piece or chip a corner. Soft metal like vent caps, flashing and gutters shows dents first. Some of that damage leaks right away. Some of it just shortens the life of the roof over the next few years.
Hail storms are not common in Southern California, and when they come the stones are usually small. That is why the damage tends to be subtle. Our job is to sort real hail damage from normal wear, old patches and foot traffic, then show you the difference in pictures before we talk about any repair.
What Our Hail Repair Includes
All slopes checked
The back of the house can take as many hits as the front. We check everything: shingles, tile, ridge caps, vents, skylights and flashing.
Photos with simple notes
Each spot we mark comes with a photo and a brief note on what it is. When something is wear rather than hail, we tell you.
Fixing shingles and tile
Bruised or cracked shingles and broken tiles get replaced, with color and profile matched as closely as the material allows. On tile roofs we also look at the underlayment beneath any broken pieces.
Vents, flashing and gutters
Dented vent caps and bent flashing can let water in where pieces meet. We reseal or replace them, and we fix or replace damaged gutters and downspouts.
Support with your insurance claim
We work directly with your insurance claim, giving the adjuster our photos and measurements and walking the roof with them if you want. Coverage is the adjuster's call, not ours.

Signs Hail May Have Hurt Your Roof
- Granules in the gutters
- A heavy wash of sand-like granules at the downspouts after a storm means shingles lost some of their coating.
- Dents on soft metal
- Look at gutters, downspouts, AC fins and vent caps. If they are dented, the roof took hits too.
- Cracked or chipped tile
- Broken tile pieces on the ground or in the gutter are worth a closer look. One cracked tile can let water reach the underlayment.
- Dark spots on shingles
- Round dark marks where granules are gone show where hail struck. They can feel soft when pressed.
- A new stain inside
- A ceiling stain or damp spot in the attic after a storm means water already found a way in. Do not wait on that one.
The Steps of a Hail Repair

You call us
Tell us when the storm hit and what you noticed, such as dents or granules in the gutters. We set up the free inspection on a day that suits you.
- 2
We inspect
We climb up, mark every hit and photograph it. If there's any sign of water, we check the attic as well.
- 3
Findings and a written price
We sit with you, go through the photos and point out what's hail damage and what isn't. You get a free written estimate that lists each repair.
- 4
Insurance, when it applies
If you open a claim, we send over our records and can meet the adjuster up on the roof. Once you know what's covered, you choose how to proceed.
- 5
Repairs and cleanup
We cover your yard and plants, do the repairs and clean as we work. Before leaving, we show you everything we did.
What Sets the Price of Hail Repair
Most hail work is a repair, not a new roof. The cost comes down to how much got hit and what the roof is made of. Every item is written out so you can line it up with your insurance estimate. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.
- How much of the roof took hits
- A few cracked tiles on a single slope is a quick job. Bruising on every slope can mean replacing a section or the whole roof.
- What the roof is made of
- Asphalt shingles patch faster. Tile needs more care to lift and reset, and finding a match for older tile can take a while.
- The layers below
- If water made it past the surface, some underlayment or soft decking may need replacing. We show you before it goes on the estimate.
- Dented metal and gutters
- Vents, flashing and gutters with dents add parts and labor, but they're usually easy to swap out.
Common Hail Damage Questions
- Can hail actually hurt roofs in this area?
- Yes, though hail storms are rare here and the hailstones tend to be small. Small hail can bruise shingles and dent metal without leaving a clear hole. That's why a close inspection after a storm is worth it, even when everything looks fine from the ground.
- Will you say so if the hail didn't do any damage?
- We will. If what we find is age, sun wear or earlier repairs, we tell you and show you how we know. Our owner has 40 years of roofing experience and would rather give you an honest answer than sell you work.
- Will you work with my insurance company?
- We work directly with your insurance claim. You get photos, measurements and a written estimate from us, and we can meet the adjuster at your house. Coverage is up to the insurance company, and we won't claim otherwise.
- What happens if the hail damage calls for a new roof?
- We show you why with photos and put that option in writing. As a GAF Certified Contractor, we can explain GAF shingle systems if replacement is the right move. Our roof replacement page describes how that job goes.
